Concrete Driveway Installation & Replacement

A new driveway is the first thing people see at your home. We pour reinforced concrete driveways built for South Florida's heat, rain and heavy daily use, with the finish you choose: classic broom finish, modern slabs with turf or river-rock joints, or stamped and colored concrete.

How we build driveways

Every driveway starts with the base. We remove the old surface, compact the sub-base, set forms to the right slope so water drains away from your house and garage, and place steel reinforcement before the pour. Control joints are cut where the concrete needs to crack so the cracks you never see are the only ones that happen.

South Florida driveways also have to handle standing water and intense sun. We adjust the mix, the thickness and the drainage to the site instead of using one recipe for every job.

Driveway options

  • Slab driveways with artificial-turf, river-rock or gravel joints (our most requested look)
  • Standard broom-finish driveways, 4" to 6" thick with steel reinforcement
  • Stamped and colored concrete that mimics brick pavers or stone without the loose pieces
  • Driveway extensions, turnarounds, aprons and extra parking pads
  • Full tear-out and replacement of cracked, sunken or stained driveways

Why homeowners and businesses choose TCP Concrete

Built to drain

Proper slope, compacted base and joints placed where they belong mean fewer cracks and no puddles at the garage door.

One solid surface

Unlike pavers, a poured driveway has no pieces to shift, sink or grow weeds between them.

Finish to match your home

From clean modern slabs to stamped patterns, the driveway can match the style of the house and the landscaping.

Our process

  1. Free on-site estimate. We measure, check drainage and access, and discuss finishes. You receive a written, itemized estimate.
  2. Permits and scheduling. We tell you whether a permit or HOA approval is needed and handle the paperwork.
  3. Demolition and base. Old concrete is removed, the sub-base is compacted and forms are set to drain.
  4. Reinforcement and pour. Steel goes in, concrete is placed, finished and jointed.
  5. Curing and walkthrough. We protect the new concrete while it cures and walk the finished job with you.

Frequently asked questions

How long before I can park on a new concrete driveway?

Light foot traffic is usually fine after 24 to 48 hours. We recommend waiting about 7 days before parking cars and 28 days before heavy vehicles, when the concrete reaches its design strength.

Do I need a permit for a driveway in South Florida?

In most cities and in unincorporated Miami-Dade and Broward a new or replaced driveway requires a permit, especially where it meets the public sidewalk or street. We tell you upfront whether your project needs one and what it involves.

How thick should a residential driveway be?

We pour residential driveways at a minimum of 4 inches with reinforcement; areas that will carry trucks, boats or RVs are poured thicker.
